Below is my final presentation for my public speaking class about language immersion programs in elementary settings. Under the video is a written outline I prepared to use for the presentation, and under that is brief reflection about the class.

I feel that this assignment incorporated everything I've learned from this course. The speech required ethos, pathos, and logos appeals, a clear introduction and conclusion, as well as transitions and clear points. I introduced a topic that wasn't exhausted by others speaking about often and I used clear language that was neither too complicated nor too simple.
This project was beneficial for me in the future when I give other formal presentations. I will use a visual aid similar to this one that is neither distracting for the audience, nor too wordy, while clearly illustrating my points. I especially like that my topic relates to my future career as an ASL/English interpreter.
I learned a lot of similar ideas and principles in my English 2010 Class, and wrote papers about similar ideas. While I learned about the three kinds of appeals as well as how to avoid logical fallacies when writing papers, I didn't have the real world application that I do in giving a spoken presentation.

Math 1040 Statistics Projects
For this project, I analyzed data which came from classmates regarding heights, Skittles colors, and the number of Skittles in each bag. I couldn't complete part two, but was able to do the assignments for parts three through seven, listed below. In part three, I analyzed the data of the number of Skittles in each bag and the heights of fellow students to see if there was correlation, and there was not. In part four I began to analyze proportions and specifically focused on the proportions of yellow candies the class collected as well as in my personal bag of Skittles. In part five I produced confidence intervals to show the likelihood of finding certain candies within a bag of Skittles. In part six I did hypothesis testing for the number of Skittles a bag will contain as well as how many of those Skittles will be red. Part seven is a reflective portion of my experience with this project.
